About Centaur® Data Platform

Centaur® Data Platform is a cloud-native Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution designed to streamline the conversion and management of healthcare data into the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard. By seamlessly integrating with various data sources, including Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDWs), Core Administrative Claims Processing Engines, and Electronic Health Records (EMRs), Centaur® Data Platform serves as a centralized hub for ingesting, curating, and converting diverse healthcare data formats. This unified approach empowers health plans to establish robust connectivity with both internal and external data sources, ensuring data integrity and enabling efficient data flow from source to destination.

The FHIR data generated by Centaur® Data Platform can be leveraged by diverse teams within healthcare organizations, including Risk Adjustment, Utilization Management, FHIR-based Interoperability APIs, and Quality Analytics. This versatile application of the converted data empowers stakeholders to make informed decisions, improve care coordination, and enhance overall healthcare outcomes.

Centaur® Data Platform supports the HL7™ FHIR specification version R4 (4.0.1), covering all data elements from USCDI V1-V3. Centaur® Data Platform is built with a container architecture, which can be deployed in a Health Plan’s public cloud infrastructure. This deployment architecture helps Health Plans maintain data control and eliminate data hops, thus reducing operational costs. The current release of Centaur® Data Platform integrates with the following FHIR servers; Azure Health Data Services, Azure API for FHIR, and HAPI FHIR servers.

Retry Reference Handler

By enabling the FHIR server to reattempt the resolution of previously unresolved references, the Retry Reference Handler helps to address situations where referenced resources may be temporarily unavailable or have been deleted. HL7™ Engine

Centaur® Data Platform's HL7™ Engine is a specialized component designed to efficiently process and manage HL7™ messages, which are a common standard for exchanging healthcare data. The HL7™ Engine offers a comprehensive suite of functionalities, including routing, transformation, processing, and validation of HL7™ messages such as ADT (Admission, Discharge, and Transfer), ORU (Observation Result), ORM (Observation Request) and others.

The HL7™ Engine consists of several key components:
  • HL7™ Router: This component routes HL7™ messages through the MLLP (Minimum Lower Layer Protocol) protocol, ensuring seamless communication between systems.
  • HL7™ Engine Processor: This component serves as the entry point for HL7™ messages, initiating the processing workflow.
  • HL7™ Validator: This component rigorously validates HL7™ messages against established HL7™ specifications, ensuring adherence to industry standards and data integrity.
